advanced log analyzer 1.2 |
downlaod it here | |||
| look at my statistic i made with the advanced log analyzer 1.2. | ||||
first to say |
first, its a good tool, they sell it with "a great set of untraditional reports", and these untraditional reports are the real power of the advanced log analyzer, that's true. the "untraditional" reports:
some more reports like indirect referrer analysis, but i don't have an examples for this. filtersthere are many detailed filter possibilities, which is the really good thing
to manage trough the gui ... |
gui ?!? |
| |||
| |
advanced log analyzer has a gui and you can use it from the shell, although in my case the shell just started the gui and started analysing immediately. has a major weaknesses: the gui is confusing and limited. it also behaves strange, sometimes it doesn't accept changes. that's annoying ... the administration of the different config files is not very easy to understand. trough the gui, its not possible to save an reports.ini file under a different filename. its only possible to save the changes you have made to the same file. the original file will then be renamed to *.bak so i suggest to duplicate the *.ini file you want to edit, rename it manually and then start the application. anyway, i started to edit the config file manually with a text editor and the process it trough the gui. so guys improve the gui please. |

fast ? |
| |||
| they sold it as very fast. it isn't. to process my 630'000 line/ 140MB apache combined log took 11 min, 49 sec, 990 msec sic! (winXp/1000Mhz/128MB) for this basic report. to count there any msec is just ridiculous .. tray analog if you need a fast one for conventional report (48s, without dns lookup win98se/800Mhz/256MB) and you get much more information, look here |
tiny pictures ! |
| |||
why are the pictures so small ? why cant i configure them better and i know, good data visualisation is very powerful, put pie chart and bar chart who look like this, aren't. |
